April Service Changes


VTA's quarterly service changes went into effect on Monday, April 10. Please note the following:


Light Rail: Minor weekday and weekend schedule changes to all three light rail lines were made to coordinate with the new weekday Caltrain schedule that also became effective on April 10. 
Lines 22/522: On weekdays, the frequency for Line 522 has improved from 15 to 12 minutes, while the frequency for Line 22 has been changed from 12 to 15 minutes. Line 522 no longer stops at these locations: The Alameda & Julian, Santa Clara & Almaden Blvd, Alum Rock & Sunset, and Capitol & Alum Rock.  Minor weekend changes were also made to both Lines 22 and 522.
The following bus lines have weekday and/or weekend schedule changes to better coordinate with new light rail and/or Caltrain schedules: 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 25, 26, 27, 32, 35, 37, 40, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 52, 54, 55, 57, 58, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 68, 71, 72, 73, 77, 82, 121, 168, 180, 181, 200, 201 (DASH), 304, 321, 323, 328 & 330.
Line 31: The 8:39 p.m. southbound and 9:02 p.m. northbound trips has been moved 13 minutes later to better coordinate with Evergreen Valley College class times.
Line 42: Major weekday schedule changes were made to better coordinate with Evergreen Valley College class times.
Line 81: The 4:59 p.m. westbound weekday trip operates through Truman & Bryant.  Major weekday and minor Saturday schedule changes were made to coordinate with the new light rail and Caltrain schedules.
Line 89: Major schedule changes were made in conjunction with the new Caltrain schedule.  Additional a.m. trips were added since more trains will be stopping at California Avenue, and service to Hillview & Arastradero has been extended to 10 a.m.
Line 185: Minor routing changes were made in the Mountain View area to speed up the service.  The timepoint at Middlefield & Logue has been moved to the Middlefield Light Rail Station.  Minor schedule changes were also made.

New schedules can be found on board VTA buses and light rail as well as:
  • VTA Downtown Customer Service Center, located at 55A. West Santa Clara Street, San Jose.
    The hours are Mon. - Fri., 9 am to 6 pm
  • VTA Marketing and Customer Service, located at 3331 N. First Street at River Oaks, San Jose. The location is in the lobby of Building B.
    The hours are Mon. - Fri., 8 am to 4:30 pm
