Comment Period Extended for BART Phase II Extension DSEIS/SEIR

VTA has provided two extra weeks to give comments on the environmental impacts on Phase II of VTA’s BART extension through Downtown San Jose and into Santa Clara. 

The comment period deadline has been extended from February 20 to March 6, 2017 to comment on the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement/Draft Subsequent Environmental Impact Report (SEIS/SEIR).

At three public hearings in January, VTA gave a presentation and accepted formal comments on the environmental document.  The hearings were held in East San Jose near the proposed Alum Rock/28th Street Station, in Downtown San Jose where 2 stations are planned, and in Santa Clara near the proposed end-of-the-line BART station in Silicon Valley.

The public review period is the next step to deliver the biggest transportation infrastructure project in Santa Clara County history. The Final SEIS/SEIR will include responses to the comments received during the public comment period.
