Let’s Hit the Streets for Viva CalleSJ!9/6/2018 9:36 AM |
Folks throughout San Jose are encouraged to walk, bike, skate, play, and explore during Viva CalleSJ on Sunday, September 23.
This one-day event features miles of car-free closed streets. Three activity hubs will offer live music, vendors, food, activities, bike parking and a whole lot of fun. Discover amazing neighborhoods and local businesses all along the way.
This year’s festivities begin with the Run Viva CalleSJ 5K. VTA riders can register and use the discount code “RVCSJ1” to receive a 15% discount off the regular race entry price.
The new route runs along Monterey Road, from SoFA (South of Market Area) to the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds to Martial Cottle Park in south San Jose. Vehicles will not be allowed on these roads, so this is your opportunity to safely walk and ride without any cars on the road!
Viva CalleSJ activities are from 10a.m. to 3p.m. (streets are closed until 4pm). The best part is the event is completely free. Join us for a free-wheeling good time!
Viva CalleSJ is a program of the San Jose Department of Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services
Avoid parking hassles and ride VTA light rail or bus lines 25, 26, 66*, 68*, 70*, 72*, 73*, or 82*, then walk, bike or skate along the route.
*These bus lines will be rerouted, but will get you to the event. Please plan your trip accordingly.
