Ready, Set… Go!6/2/2017 11:19 AM |
It’s time to stand up to diabetes and get active. On June 11 join in on the fun as the American Diabetes Association (ADA) kicks off their 2017 Silicon Valley Tour de Cure.
Thousands of participants from around the county are set to take part in ADA’s largest fundraising event and VTA has joined forces with ADA to help spread the word and get you moving. The theme of the day is “Many roads… One purpose” and to kick off the unique nature of this year’s Tour de Cure, ADA has walkers, runners and cyclists all coming together on a single day.
Tour de Cure is the nation’s largest diabetes cycling event and its funds go towards advocating for the rights of individuals with diabetes, as well as research towards diabetes. So whether you are into running, cycling or just walking, join in on this great family fun event.
The American Diabetes Association is a non-profit organization with a mission: To prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. According to the ADA, current trends indicate that by 2050, one third of the population will be diagnosed with diabetes. Maintain a healthy life by utilizing one of VTA’s many bikeways or walkways in the fight against diabetes.
