Take VTA to the Fireworks!

|

If you’re headed to the Downtown San Jose Fireworks show this July 4th, let VTA take you there!

The San Jose Rotary Club is bringing back its free, world class fireworks show once again at Discovery Meadow, near the Children’s Discovery Museum. The fun starts at 9:30 p.m. but plan to get there early to stake out a good spot.

Light Rail will operate on an enhanced Sunday/ Holiday schedule in order to provide extra service to the fireworks. All passengers from the Alum Rock and Santa Teresa trains should exit at the Children’s Discovery Museum Station. Passengers from the Winchester and Mountain View trains should exit at the Convention Center Station.

Bus Service Passengers can also take VTA Bus Lines 22, 23, 66, 68, 72, 73, and 181 to and from the fireworks.

Getting home following the fireworks, VTA will have numerous trains available and will operate at full capacity in all directions departing from downtown San Jose.

Passengers are advised to board at the same station where they arrived. (Click on destination station for complete schedule)

901- Alum Rock or Santa Teresa board at Children’s Discovery Museum Station.
902- Mountain View or Winchester board at Convention Center Station.
900 - The Almaden to Ohlone/Chynoweth line will have service until 11:30 p.m.

PLAN AHEAD: PURCHASE YOUR ROUND TRIP FARE IN ADVANCE.

Download and purchase fare on VTA’s EZfare mobile fare app or load cash value on your Clipper Card. Or purchase an 8-hour Excursion Pass at light rail stations (valid for light rail only). Due to large crowds, the ticket vending machines at the Children’s Discovery Museum and Convention Center Light Rail Stations will not be accessible after the fireworks.
