Take VTA to the Women’s March in Downtown San Jose1/11/2018 9:10 AM |
VTA will work to accommodate the crowds attending the Women’s March in San Jose on Saturday, January 20. Last year, up to 25,000 people gathered in downtown San Jose for this event.
Since many downtown San Jose streets will be closed to motorized vehicles between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., here are a few tips to help you plan your visit in and around San Jose.
- VTA will be running a regular Saturday schedule and will have larger train sets to accommodate crowds. Extra light rail trains will be on standby if needed.
- Plan ahead and allow extra travel time. Visit vta.org to plan your route and use the Transit app to chart your travel plans.
- Download and pre-purchase VTA fare for you and others in your group using EZFare. An adult single ride is $2.25, youth/senior/disable ride for $1.00
- Have fun, but be safe. Stop, look and listen as you approach bus and light rail stations and follow all directional signs.
