VTA Reroutes for Amgen Tour of California

Some of the most renowned cyclists and teams in the world will be making their way through Santa Clara County today, as they complete the Third Stage of the Amgen Tour of California.

There are several reroutes in VTA bus lines during the four hours that cyclists will ride through the East Hills of San Jose and Morgan Hill.

After starting off in Sacramento May 13, cyclists in the seven-day men's stage will wind their way through Santa Clara County today between noon and 4 pm on their way to Pasadena at the end of the week. (The women’s route is in Southern California only.)

The last time the prestigious race headed west from Stockton was in 2007.  Twelve years later, the course is a bit longer at 126 miles, and includes nearly 10,000 feet of climbing. A notable addition to the 2019 route is the KOM (“King of the Mountain”) atop Mt. Hamilton (4,265 feet) before a quick descent to the finish of the Third Stage on Condit Road in Morgan Hill.

We thank you for your patience with the bus reroutes during this race.
