American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act or ARRA, which enacted a $787 billion economic stimulus package to help jumpstart the national economy. ARRA includes $48 billion for the nation’s transportation infrastructure. As part of this package, VTA received over $85 million for various transportation projects. In addition, another $31.5 million has been programmed for local streets and bike/pedestrian projects throughout Santa Clara County. Click on the links to the left to learn more.
