Improves Mobility
- Connects to VTA light rail and buses, Caltrain, ACE, Capitol Corridor, Amtrak and Greyhound
- Potential future connection to an Automated People Mover (APM) to Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport and High Speed Rail
- Provides a new transit option for no-car or limited income households and citizens with disabilities
- Serves three international airports (Mineta San Jose International, Oakland International and San Francisco International)

- Increases transit options to support local and regional growth
- Moves the most people to major job centers when compared to other transit alternatives (over 90,000 daily riders on BART are expected by 2030)
- Supports new jobs and housing around stations
- Creates new construction jobs (10,000 jobs per year, of which 75% will be local to Santa Clara County)
Enhances the Community
- Serves San Jose State, HP Pavilion, downtown San Jose, Santa Clara University and the San Jose International Airport
- Increases mobility to retail centers like the Great Mall in Milpitas and to major employment hubs like Google, Yahoo, and Cisco Systems
- Improves links to cultural, entertainment and sports venues
