The community has been involved in the BART Silicon Valley Extension from the start, contributing valuable feedback through established community and technical working groups and during public workshops and community meetings.

For more information on Real Estate activities please call (408) 934-2650.

Public Meetings

Public hearings, meetings and workshops are routinely held by VTA to present project information to the public and receive input from interested parties and stakeholders in the community.

Community Outreach Calendar

VTA has established several committees for the BART Silicon Valley Extension to provide input and help enhance VTA’s outreach efforts

Policy Advisory Board (PAB)

In July 2008, the policy advisory boards for the Silicon Valley Rapid Transit Corridor and BART Warm Springs Extension merged to become the Silicon Valley Rapid Transit Corridor and BART Warm Springs Extension Policy Advisory Board  (PAB). The PAB provides a forum for policy guidance and decision-making throughout project development. The PAB meets on a quarterly basis throughout the year.

Community Working Groups (CWG)

VTA works with established Community Working Groups (CWGs) to provide feedback and facilitate local community participation in the study. There are four CWGs representing Milpitas, the Hostetter/Alum Rock area, Downtown San Jose, and Santa Clara . Members of these working groups include representatives of neighborhood and business associations, community organizations, advocacy groups, major property owners, and planning commissioners.

City Partners

VTA currently and will continue to work closely with local jurisdictional partners throughout the planning, design and construction of the project. VTA and city staff provide ongoing project updates and briefings to city councils and city commissions.
