Project Development

The BART to Silicon Valley Extension continues to progress through key project development phases required for capital projects of this magnitude, including  planning, environmental, and engineering phases.

The time needed to complete major stages of project development includes extensive community engagement throughout the process. Community outreach during the environmental review process, city partnership and local neighborhood planning efforts, and preliminary engineering work helps to build a better transportation solution for Silicon Valley.

BART to Silicon Valley is currently in the federal environmental and 65% engineering phases. Agency and stakeholder coordination continues during design development.
