Project Overview - Schedule

VTA is currently in the process of station area planning, environmental clearance, engineering work and securing funding.

• November 2008: Citizens of Santa Clara County to vote on 1/8^th cent sales tax for operations and maintenance of BART
• December 2008: Complete 65% Engineering
• Early 2009: Draft federal environmental document (EIS) anticipated for public review and comment
• Spring 2009: Enter federal New Starts process
• Fall 2009: Final federal environmental document (EIS) anticipated approval
• 2009-2010: Advanced Design Phase
• 2010-2017: Construction Phase
• 2018: Service begins
