Newly appointed for 2008, Los Altos City Council Member David Casas serves on the VTA Board of Directors representing City Group 2 (the North County Cities of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale).  He also serves on VTA’s Administration and Finance Committee and on the Dumbarton Rail Project Policy Advisory Board.  Previously, he served on the VTA Board of Directors during 2004 and 2005, and the Policy Advisory Committee during 2006 and 2007.

Member Casas serves on the Los Altos City Council.  He was elected in 2003, re-elected in 2007, and served as Mayor during 2004 – 2005.

From 1999-20003, Member Casas served on the Los Altos School District Board of Trustees and the Los Altos Parks, Arts & Recreation Commission.

Member Casas received a BS in Business Finance from San Jose and a MS in Technology Management from Pepperdine.  He began his finance career working in high tech companies, and just over nine years ago joined LifeScan, a Johnson & Johnson company.  For the past two years, Member Casas has been managing Community Relations for LifeScan, coordinating targeted philanthropy, employee engagement, and supporting programs to help at-risk youth.
