Nancy Pyle
VTA Board Member

Newly appointed for 2008, San José City Council Member Nancy Pyle serves on the VTA Board of Directors representing City Group 1 (the City of San José).  She also serves on VTA's Transit Planning and Operations Committee and on the County Expressways Policy Advisory Committee. 

Member Pyle serves on the San José City Council representing San José's Council District 10 (Almaden & BlossomValley).  She was elected in 2005.

Her prior public service includes the San Jose/Evergreen College District Board of Trustees.  Her community service includes the San Jose Small Business Commission, and the boards for Notre Dame High School, the YWCA, and the Almaden Valley Community Association.

Member Pyle graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Humanities from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York, and earned a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from U.S. International University in San Diego.  She moved to San Jose in 1969 with her family where she served as a teacher, Community Relations Manager, and Legislative Analyst for San Jose Unified School District for 25 years.
