Dolly Sandoval
VTA Board Vice Chairperson

Cupertino Mayor Dolly Sandoval serves on the VTA Board of Directors representing City Group 3 (the West Valley Cities of Campbell, Cupertino, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, and the Town of Los Gatos) since 2006.  Member Sandoval is vice chairperson of the VTA Board of Directors for 2008.  She serves as the chairperson of VTA's Transit Planning and Operation Committee and serves on the Executive Evaluation Committee.

She previously served as an alternate member of the VTA Board of Directors during 2004 and 2005, representing City Group 3.   Vice Chairperson Sandoval also served for four years on VTA's Policy Advisory Committee representing Cupertino, serving as that committee's chairperson during 2004 and part of 2003 and as the vice chairperson during 2003.  She also served on VTA's Citizens Advisory Committee representing environmentalists from 1999-2001.

Vice Chairperson Sandoval is the Mayor of the City of Cupertino. She was elected to the Cupertino City Council in 2001 and again in 2005.

Prior to her election, she served as a trustee for the Foothill-DeAnza Community College District for 10 years.   She is actively engaged in community service as a member of various boards and actively supports many local organizations.

Vice Chairperson Sandoval was born in Palo Alto and attended Cupertino schools.  She graduated from Fremont High School in Sunnyvale and attended DeAnza Community College in Cupertino where she earned an A.A. degree in Business Administration.  She later attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where she received a B.A. in Mathematics and also earned a teaching credential.  She is currently a mathematics teacher at Los Gatos High School.
