Forrest Williams
VTA Board Member

San José City Council Member Forrest Williams serves on the VTA Board of Directors representing City Group 1 (City of San José), having done so since 2001.   He serves as Chair to VTA’s Administration and Finance Committee and as the Ex-Officio Board Liaison to VTA’s Committee for Transit Accessibility.   He also serves in Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board and Chair to Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Board.

Member Williams serves on the San José City Council representing Council District 2 (Santa Teresa/ Blossom Valley/Edenvale).   He was elected to the San José City Council in 2000 and again in 2004.

He has an extensive record of community and public service.   He was elected to three terms as an Oak Grove School District Trustee and has served on various commissions and non-profit boards.

Member Williams is a 36-year resident of San José.   He holds various engineering degrees and retired from IBM Corporation as a Senior Engineering Manager after more than 35 years.
