Bob Livengood
VTA Alternate Board Member

Milpitas Mayor Robert Livengood serves as an alternate member on the VTA Board of Directors representing City Group 4 (the cities of Milpitas, Morgan Hill, and Gilroy).   He also serves as an alternate member of VTA’s Transportation Planning and Operation Committee.   He previously served from December 2004 through the end of 2005 as a member of the VTA Board of Directors representing City Group 4.

Mayor Livengood is a member of the Milpitas City Council.   He has served many terms on the city council, being elected in 2004, 2000, 1996, 1992, 1991, 1982, 1976 and 1975.   He is serving as the mayor during 2009, served as the vice mayor during 2008, and served the mayor twice during the 1980’s.

Mr. Livengood is actively engaged in community service as a member of various boards and actively supports many local organizations.   This includes serving as a board member of Outreach and Escort and serving in the Milpitas Police Reserve since 1998.

Mayor Livengood graduated from Samuel Ayer High School in Milpitas and from San José City College where he earned his Associate Degree.   He currently works for the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department as a Management Analyst.   He previously was the Vice President - Operations of Cartridge World North America and before that, was the Assistant General Manager of the Great Mall of the Bay Area.   He was also previously the owner and operator of a 7-Eleven Store for almost 15 years. And from 1989 to 1991, he was the Executive Director of the Building Industry Association.
