Nancy Pyle VTA Board Member
San José City Council Member Nancy Pyle serves on the VTA Board of Directors representing City Group 1 (the City of San José), having done so since 2008. She serves on VTA's Congestion Management Program and Planning Committee, and is that committee’s chairperson for 2010. She also serves on the Audit Committee, the County Expressways Policy Advisory Committee, and on the Silicon Valley Rapid Transit Corridor/BART Warm Springs Extension Policy Advisory Board.
Member Pyle serves on the San José City Council representing San José Council District 10 (Almaden and portions of Blossom Valley). She was first elected in 2004, and then again in 2008.
Her prior public service includes the San Jose/Evergreen College District Board of Trustees. Prior community service includes the San Jose Small Business Commission, and the boards for Notre Dame High School, the YWCA, and the Almaden Valley Community Association.
Member Pyle graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Humanities from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York, and earned a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from U.S. International University in San Diego. She moved to San Jose in 1969 with her family where she served as a teacher, Community Relations Manager, and Legislative Analyst for San Jose Unified School District for 25 years.
