Appointment to the Committee for Transit Accessibility (CTA) |
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the appointments of Les Catanese and Barbara Stahl to fill existing vacancies on the Committee for Transit Accessibility in the Individuals with Disabilities category and Michelle HammCiric, to fill an existing vacancy in the Human Services category.
BACKGROUND:
The Vacancy Announcement was posted in VTAs Public Notices posting boards, City Halls, the media, and on www.vta.org. We also mailed notices and applications to a database developed by VTAs accessible services staff comprised of human service agencies, senior centers, medical services and other programs that serve the senior and disabled communities.
DISCUSSION:
Applications were submitted for the vacancies in the Individuals with Disabilities category in Groups II and IV. Staff reviewed the applications and forwarded them to the Board of Directors Group II and IV representatives for nomination. The following appointments to the Committee for Transit Accessibility are recommended:
Les Catanese has been nominated by Board Member Manuel Valerio in Group II.
Barbara Stahl has been nominated by Board Member Tom Springer in Group IV.
Ms. Stahl and Mr. Catanese have satisfied the criteria set forth in the CTA Bylaws. Michelle HammCiric has been nominated by Board Chairperson Ron Gonzales in the Human Services category. Ms. HammCiric has satisfied the criteria set forth in the CTA Bylaws.
