Resolution for Senator Byron Sher |
RECOMMENDATION:
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Because of term limits, Senator Sher will be retiring from the California State Legislature this year after 24 years of service, eight in the Senate and 16 in the Assembly. As a member of Santa Clara County’s legislative delegation, Senator Sher demonstrated a strong commitment to improving transportation in the region. His expertise and leadership will be greatly missed.
It is fitting for the Board of Directors to honor Senator Sher with a Resolution of Commendation for his years of outstanding service and his many achievements as a member of the Legislature.
ALTERNATIVES:
Because of his efforts in transportation during his legislative career, we believe Senator Sher is deserving of this honor.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this recommendation.
