Biju Lukachan

iju Lukachan had heard the cautionary tales warning how hard it would be survive in Silicon Valley without a car. He decided to see if that was indeed true.
“Your buses and light rail helped me prove that it is not impossible to live in the Bay Area without a car,” he noted, and added “your service helped me tide over the spike in gas prices at the beginning of the year.”
Lukachan is an IT professional here on a short-term assignment in the United States and soon will be returning to his native country of India.
“I was mostly a weekend rider. I would use the bus to go buy my groceries, go to church, visit friends, go sightseeing and visit the Flea Market.”
Reflecting on his public transportation experiences here, Lukachan praised VTA Customer Service and noted “most of your operators have been very friendly, especially one gentleman who drives Line 66 on Sunday mornings—I’m sorry, I don’t remember his name,” Lukachan continues. “They (operators) have also been very firm in dealing with disorderly passengers. Your buses and light rail are clean and comfortable.”
VTA wants to thank Lukachan both for using our services while visiting and also for helping deflate the myth that a car is a necessity when working and living in Silicon Valley.
