Sunday/Holiday Schedule observed on Memorial Day
San Jose, Calif. – On Memorial Day, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will participate in the National Moment of Remembrance. Americans will pause during the National Moment of Remembrance for a moment of reflection at 3:00 p.m. on May 28th, Memorial Day.
All VTA Bus and Light Rail vehicles in service will stop at a safe location for approximately one minute. During this period of reflection, bus and light rail operators will make a brief announcement. Spoken years ago by Abraham Lincoln, VTA operators will read the following words, "’The mystic chords of memory... should swell into a mighty chorus of remembrance, gratitude and rededication.’ At this time, please observe with us a few moments of silence in memory and gratitude for all those who served and gave their lives for our country.” The short pause will not have a significant impact to VTA Bus and Light Rail schedules.
