VTA Hosts Public Meeting on Comprehensive Light Rail Analysis

WHO: Santa Clara County residents and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA).
WHAT: VTA invites interested persons and agencies to a public meeting to learn
about the agency’s Comprehensive Light Rail Analysis. Kevin Connolly, VTA Manager of Transit Planning, will present the analysis.
WHEN & WHERE: Thursday, November 19, 2009, 7:00 p.m.
City of Mountain View, Council Chambers
This location is served by VTA Bus Lines 51, 52, and nearby Bus Lines 34, 35, and light rail.
WHY: VTA is conducting a Comprehensive Light Rail Analysis to make the system more efficient today and plan for future population and job growth in the heart of Silicon Valley.
The Light Rail System Analysis provides the first comprehensive evaluation of the infrastructure. It also identifies improvements for the system over the next 25 years and will serve as a guide for funding and capital improvements to fully utilize the system. The analysis represents the second phase of VTA’s Comprehensive Operations Analysis for the transit system.
