October VTA Transit Passes Available Soon

Fare Increase Prompts Encouragement of VTA Pass Purchases
San Jose, Calif. – As the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) prepares for the planned fare increase in October, VTA passengers are encouraged to take advantage of the remaining days to purchase September passes. October passes will be available for purchase beginning Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Despite the acceleration of fares, VTA still offers a great value for those opting to use VTA bus and light rail service.
The new VTA fares take effect on October 1, 2009. The changes are as follows:
