VTA Transit Passes Now Reflecting New Fare Fees

San Jose, Calif. – Beginning, Wednesday, September 16, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will sell October transit passes reflecting the new fare fees scheduled to go into effect on Thursday, October 1, 2009. There is a need to increase fares due to a budget deficit of $57 million as a result of the loss of the state transit fund and the decline in sales tax revenue.
