Evelyn Station Demolition Continues
The Mountain View Light Rail Double Track Project met a major milestone last weekend when the contractor finished the demolition of the main Evelyn Station passenger platform.
Although the progress is significant, VTA recognizes that nearby residents are still experiencing the noise created by nighttime demolition activities. VTA has taken the following actions to reduce noise impacts:
- VTA construction inspectors are analyzing data from monitoring devices to address any instances of excessive noise level generation.
- VTA has revised the scope of work to eliminate most demolition of concrete located below ground level.
The current contractor’s schedule shows concrete demolition activities continuing through May 17, 2015 but with the reduced scope of work noted above, completion is anticipated earlier. VTA is committed to delivering the Mountain View Light Rail Double Track Project in a safe and efficient manner and thanks you for your continued patience.
