I-280/I-880/Stevens Creek Boulevard
Interchange Improvements Project
May 27, 2015
Crews will be updating traffic signal software, installing bicycle detectors and pedestrian crossing call poles and performing other work. The work requires the shutdown of the traffic signals at this intersection. The work is being done at night because Caltrans does not typically allow freeway on- and off-ramps to be closed during daytime hours. San Jose police will direct traffic through the intersection.
This work will take place at the intersection of westbound Stevens Creek Boulevard with the off-ramp from southbound I-880 and the on-ramp to SB SR 17.
10 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
These improvements are necessary before the north side of the Stevens Creek bridge is re-opened for pedestrian use.
This area is expected to congested Monday evening because the contractor will also have paving operations underway nearby this same evening.
