Traffic on Central Expressway, between Whisman Station Drive and Ferguson Drive in Mountain View, will be funneled into one lane in each direction due to construction activities for the Mountain View Light Rail Double Track Project. The traffic controls will extend through the Labor Day holiday weekend. Uniformed police officers will direct traffic at the two intersections.
8 p.m. Friday, September 4 through 5 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
Crews will be building a second light rail track across the eastbound lanes of Central Expressway, immediately adjacent to the exiting track. Later in September, a similar weekend closure will again take place as crews then extend the tracks across westbound Central Expressway.
There are no detours associated with this work but traffic on Central Expressway will be impacted as only a single lane in each direction will be open. In addition, eastbound traffic will be temporarily shifted to the westbound side of the expressway between Whisman Station Drive and Ferguson Drive.
Signage will remind motorists to “share the road” with cyclists.
