Community Bus Fares

Community Bus cash fares are proposed to be implemented July 2, 2007, when VTA implements Phase I of the Community Bus program.   Community Bus fares would apply to single ride fares on all VTA routes scheduled to operate using Community Bus vehicles.   Proposed Community Bus fares compared to fixed route fares are as follows:

Light Rail Excursion Fares

The Light Rail Excursion Pass (Excursion Pass) has been offered since June 2006 on a promotional basis, and is now proposed to become a regular part of the fare structure as of July 1, 2007.   The Excursion Pass fulfills the need for a “round-trip” light rail ticket, particularly for persons attending major events.   Proposed Excursion Pass fares, compared to single ride and day pass fares, are as follows:

Youth Summer Blast Pass

The Summer Blast Pass provides Youth (ages 5-17) a single pass which can be used for rides on VTA all summer (June, July, and August).   The Summer Blast Pass has been previously offered as a promotion and is now proposed to be made a regular part of the fare structure at the price of $75.00.
