QUESTION: What do the terms 'active,' 'closed,' 'awarded' and 'canceled' mean?
The status of solicitations is indicated by the following terms:
"Active" solicitations are those for which it is still possible to submit proposals or bids. They have been announced, but the deadline for proposals or bids has not passed.
"Closed" solicitations are those for which the deadline for submitting proposals or bids has passed, and therefore no further bids or proposals will be accepted, but that no award has yet been decided. At some point after the deadline for submitting proposals or bids, a recommendation for award will be decided by VTA. This recommendation will be sent on for approval at which time the solicitation will be awarded and closed.
"Awarded" solicitations are those that have been awarded to a vendor or vendors.
"Canceled" Solicitations are those that for some reason have been ended before award. No award is given for canceled solicitations.
