NOTICE OF COMMUNITY MEETING FOR THE PALO ALTO COMMUNITY TRANSIT STUDY
WHAT: The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will introduce a new Bus Service Operating Plan on January 14, 2008, the result of an effort to create a more efficient and effective bus system. Another product of that effort is a follow-up study of transit services in Palo Alto being conducted by VTA in partnership with the City of Palo Alto, Stanford Marguerite Shuttle, Caltrain and SamTrans. This study is exploring ways to better serve Palo Alto through new routes, changes to existing routes, including possible changes to Line 88, and improved coordination among several transit operators.
The first of three community meetings for public input was held on October 23, 2007 and focused on the market for transit and routes in the South Palo Alto area. Based on input at that meeting, proposals for new routes and funding options will be the subject of this second meeting.
