The Project

Tasman East/Capitol Light Rail Project is an 8.2-mile extension of VTA Light Rail transit into Milpitas and East San Jose.   Eleven new stations connect VTA Bus service and future transfers to the BART Extension to Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara and Downtown East Valley Transportation Improvement Project.
