The contracts described below have all been awarded, and most, if not all, are close to completion.
Major Procurement
A100 Running Rail
Procurement of running rail, restraining rail and appurtenances for the Capitol and Vasona projects.
A105 Special Trackwork
Procurement of special trackwork (turnouts, crossovers, etc.) for the Capitol, Tasman East and Vasona projects.
A110 Concrete Ties
Procurement of concrete ties for the Capitol and Vasona projects.
A115 Traction Power Substations
Procurement of I-880 to Hostetter Traction Power Substations 24 and 25 and Capitol LRT Traction Power Substations 26, 27 and 28.
A810 Running Rail
A Tasman West LRT project contract that included options for the procurement of Tasman East running rail.
A840 Concrete Ties
A Tasman West LRT project contract that included options for the procurement of Tasman East concrete ties.
A955 Ticket Vending Machines
Procurement, installation and testing of ticket vending machines (TVMs) for Tasman East, Capitol and Vasona Light Rail Projects.

Civil Construction
C225 Capitol LRT Civil, Track and Landscaping
Civil work, trackwork, landscaping and the installation and testing of the LRT signal system at Alum Rock.
C235 Capitol LRT Stations
Station platforms and finishes, shelter and light pole foundations, shelter procurement and installation, procurement and installation of station furniture, station utilities, architectural finishes, mechanical and electrical work.
C236 Capitol LRT Park-and-Ride Lot and Parking Facilities
Penitencia Creek Park-and-Ride lot and restoration of two private parking sites.
C270 Electrical Service Conversion (Olivestone Way to Alum Rock Avenue)
Conversion of existing electrical service connection from overhead to underground for 45 affected properties.
C280 Utility Site Preparation - North of Mabury
Tree removal and disposal, clearing and grubbing, site grading and spoils removal within the Olivestone to Mabury section of the Capitol Light Rail Project.
C281 Utility Site Preparation - South of Mabury
Tree removal and disposal, clearing and grubbing, site grading and spoils removal within the Mabury to Westboro section of the Capitol Light Rail Project.
C282 Penitencia Percolation Ponds Modification
Modification to an existing percolation pond, relocation of existing facilities, and replacement of existing culvert. This contract preceded PG&E utility relocation work.
C290 Site Restoration Orangestone Way to McKee Road
Site restoration work, primarily landscaping, in conjunction with properties that were affected by civil work and street improvements.
C355 Projectwide Hazardous Material Removal
Removal of all hazardous material discovered within the limits of the project, including, but not limited to, soils and/or groundwater. This contract is being administered through the issuance of task orders based on existing bid items, negotiated lump sum or time-and-materials. The scope of this contract also includes similar work for the Vasona project.
C515 Civil, Track and Landscaping (I-880 to Hostetter)
Civil work, trackwork and landscaping.
C520 Civil (I-880 to Autumnvale Drive)
Guideway construction starting at the I-880 Overcrossing on Tasman Drive in Milpitas and ending west of Autumnvale Drive on Capitol Avenue. Construction of an aerial guideway structure, superstructure and platforms for two elevated stations, Great Mall/Main and Montague, with their corresponding access structures and elevators.
C531 Clear and Grub (Phase 1)
Clearing and grubbing and other preparatory work required ahead of gas line relocation work by Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) within the C520 segment. Work involved several real estate parcels near Capitol Avenue and Montague Expressway, including Heald College.
C532 Clear and Grub (Phase 2)
Clearing and grubbing and other preparatory work required ahead of utility relocation work by third-party utility companies within the C520 and C515 segments.
C533 Kunde Building Modifications
Building modifications required with the acquisition of part of Kunde Property at the corner of Capitol Avenue and Montague Expressway. This work was required ahead of gas line relocation work by Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) within the C520 segment.
C535 Site Restoration (Phase 1)
Phase 1 site restoration work, primarily landscaping, in conjunction with properties that were affected by civil work and street improvements.
C536 Site Restoration (Phase 2)
Phase 2 site-restoration work, primarily landscaping, in conjunction with properties that were affected by civil work and street improvements.
C537 Fire Station #23 Modifications
Required modifications to City of San Jose's Fire Station No. 23, which has been affected by street widening work.
C538 Site Restoration Phase 3
Remaining site restoration work that was not included in the scope of Contracts C535 and C536.
C560 Construction Noise Fencing
Abatement of noise during civil construction and LRT operations for several affected residential properties
C561 Noise Mitigation Phase 2
Retrofit of several residential properties along the alignment that will be affected by greater traffic noise due to street or intersection reconfiguration. Includes items such as replacement windows, doors or added insulation.
C570 Tasman East Hazardous Material Removal
On-call contract for the testing, removal, and disposal of hazardous material for Zanker to I-880 and I-880 to Hostetter segments.
C580 Pavement Resurfacing
Asphalt pavement resurfacing along Capitol Avenue.
C595 Completion Contract
This is a task order contract to perform construction of items not included in other contracts. It includes miscellaneous additions, revisions and repairs, and other civil improvements.

Systems Installation
S520 Overhead Contact System
Procurement, installation and testing of the Overhead Contact System (OCS).
S945 Combined Communications and Signals
Systemwide contract that includes completion of design from the 85% drawings, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the communication system for Tasman East, Capitol and Vasona Light Rail Projects, and similar work on the LRT signal system for the aerial guideway section of Tasman East and for the Vasona.

Right-of-Way (ROW)
Right-of-way possession has been obtained for all of the parcels required for Capitol Civil, Track, and Landscaping (Contract C225) and for the Capitol Park and Ride (Contract C236). VTA has now reached final settlement with over 95% of the property owners. The remaining parcels are being finalized through separate escrow agreements. Some additional landscape irrigation easements are being acquired to accommodate the recently built irrigation improvements.

Utility Relocations
Utility relocation activities are shown in this section and include engineering and construction activities by third-party utility relocation companies. Third-party utility relocation was substantially completed in May 2002.
