Large shelters designed to protect passengers from heat, rain and wind also include an information kiosk, pay phone, ticket vending machine and both leaning rails and benches.

Distinctively designed lighting that ensures that stations are well lit at nighttime.

Digital message board signs that indicate the time and provide information on light rail service.

Safety features include railing along platform edges adjacent to the street and outside of passenger boarding areas along the track, as well as a tactile warning band along the platform edge.

San Jose artist Diana Pumpelly Bates used the stems of palm fronds abundant in local landscape, as the basis for her designs for the shelter canopy glass and railing. The design is etched on the bright blue art glass, which provides a cooling effect during the day and brightly lit feature at night. |
