Dump The Pump

Participants can plan a trip to work or play quickly and easily through the Google Trip Planner.  Resources such as the APTA savings calculator will help compare the price of using public transportation with the price of paying at the pump and parking fees.

VTA is encouraging participants to share and submit their “I Dumped the Pump” stories, photos, essays, poetry or any other form of communication to customer.service@vta.org by June 26, 2009*. All entries must be submitted in a Word document in 100 words or less. All photos must be in JPEG format and be less than 1 megabyte. Please include your name, email, home address and phone number with your submission. The two winning entries will each receive two general admission tickets to the San Jose Jazz Festival!

*By requesting that VTA consider using my story, photo, essay, poetry or other form of communication in connection with VTA’s “I Dumped the Pump” marketing campaign, I agree to the following:

1. The story, images, and photos that I am submitting are my original work, and VTA's use of them will not violate any third-party's rights. In the event that a third party establishes a protected interest in such work, I agree to reimburse VTA for the value of any prize received through this contest and will hold VTA harmless from any liability for such claim.
2. I irrevocably grant to VTA the non-exclusive, royalty-free license and right to use my story. If VTA chooses to include it on its website, I agree and allow VTA to post my name, photos, images, story, or any combination thereof, on its website, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in VTA’s Privacy Policy.

4. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws the State of California.
