Light Rail Rider Safety - Platforms

  • While waiting for the train, always stand behind the yellow line on the platform
(Express Trains don't stop at all stations and travel through at a high rate of speed)
  • Stand back until the train stops. Be careful of trains leaving the station
  • Keep children together and away from the tracks until the train stops completely
  • Cross tracks only at designated crossings or platform exists
  • Do not place objects on the tracks, such as coins or stones.  Objects can fly out from under the train’s wheels and cause injury
  • Don’t run, ride your bike, skateboard or roller skates on the platform; remove roller skates prior to boarding
  • Do not run to catch a train already in the station, especially through lanes of traffic.  Running for a train is dangerous – many injuries occur as a result.
  • Look BOTH ways before crossing any track
Emergency Security Telephone
Emergency & Information Telephone Towers

Emergency and Information Telephone Towers at light rail platforms are housed in a tall, blue tower in an ADA compliant structure. These telephones require no money to operate and accomplish only two functions; one connects passengers to 24-hour automated bus and rail information, and, if desired, transfers the call to a telephone representative during Customer Service hours. The emergency button connects users to 911. A blue light on top of the unit moves into strobe mode and can be seen by anyone in the immediate area, when the 911 button is pressed.
