Highway 17 Express Bus Fares

Description of Service

This inter-county express service is a joint effort between Valley Transportation Authority ( VTA ), California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Amtrak, Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) and Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District (Metro).

* Verification of Senior/Certified Disabled

The following forms of identification will be accepted for the purpose of verifying discount fares for seniors (62 years or older) and Certified Disabled Persons:

• Metro Transit Discount Fare
• Regional Transit Connection Discount Card
• Medicare Card
• D.M.V. Placard ID Card (Certified Disable Only)

Additionally, the following forms of Identification will be accepted as verification for the senior discount fare:

• California Driver's License
• D.M.V. I.D. Card
• Birth Certificate
• Passport (U.S. or foreign)

** Day Passes

Day Passes issued on the HWY 17 service will be honored on all VTA and Metro services for unlimited rides on the day specified. VTA Express Day Passes will be used with "a hole punch next to the express fare. Persons boarding the HWY 17 service with a VTA or Metro Day Pass will surrender the VTA or Metro Day Pass and receive $4:50 credit towards the purchase of a HWY 17 Day Pass (upgrade payment - $3.50). Persons boarding with Caltrain Monthly Ticket with 2 or more zones receive $4.50 credit towards purchase of a HWY 17 Day Pass.

The HWY 17 Monthly Pass will be honored on all VTA and Metro services for unlimited rides in the calendar month shown.
