Clipper

VTA has begun to transition customers to Clipper. This electronic “smart card” provides the convenience of allowing you to use one card to pay fares on transit agencies throughout the Bay Area. Customers currently have the option to purchase monthly passes, or load electronic “e- cash” value for use on our system. Through June 2011, the cards themselves are free, with a $5 fare preload. You will be able to add your monthly pass to your card on-line, using auto load or at various locations throughout the Bay Area.
