Your best bargain on VTA is a VTA Day pass or VTA Monthly pass. Check out fares below.

VTA drivers do not carry change. Please have exact fare when boarding.

Day Passes are good for unlimited rides on VTA and can be purchased from your bus operator or light rail ticket vending machines.

Children under 5 years ride free with an accompanying adult or parent.

Note: Caltrain passengers with monthly passes for two or more zones may ride all VTA Local and Limited Stop Buses, and Light Rail service free of charge.

Good for one calendar month of unlimited rides on VTA Local Buses, Limited Stop Buses, and Light Rail.

Youth Flash Pass (ages 5 through 17) - $49.00
Good for one calendar month of unlimited rides on VTA Local Buses, Limited Stop Buses, Express Buses, and Light Rail.

Senior/Disabled Monthly Sticker - $26.00
Good for one calendar month of unlimited rides for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities on VTA Local Buses, Limited Stop Buses, Express Buses, and Light Rail. Sticker must be properly affixed to the Regional Transportation Connection (RTC) Discount Card to be valid.

Express Flash Pass - $122.50
Good for one calendar month of unlimited rides on VTA Local Buses, Limited Stop Buses, Express Buses, and Light Rail.

Monthly Pass Subscriptions

You can now pre-purchase monthly Adult, Youth, Senior/Disabled and Express Passes for an entire year and have them sent to you each month. It's simple, saves you money and you can start anytime of the year. The Annual Pass Subscription Program allows you to pre-purchase 12 monthly passes (for 12 consecutive months) for the price of 11 monthly passes. You can also subscribe to VTA passes with Month-by-Month Auto Payments using your credit card or debit account.

Adult Day Pass Tokens are valid for one day of unlimited rides on VTA Local Buses, Limited Stop Buses, and Light Rail. There will be an additional charge for VTA Express Service. Youth Day Pass Tokens are valid for one day of unlimited rides on all VTA Local Buses, Limited Stop Buses, Express Buses and Light Rail.

Seniors (65 and older) and Persons with Disabilities:

Senior/Disabled fares require proof of age or disability.

If you are paying in cash (single ride and day passes), accepted ID includes the following:

For Seniors only: Proof that you are 65 or older - California Drivers License, DMV ID card, Birth Certificate or passport.
For Seniors and Persons with Disabilities: Medicare card (not Medi-Cal), Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Discount Card or Transit Discount ID Card issued by another California transit agency which is equivalent to the RTC Discount ID Card
For Persons with Disabilities only: Registration for a permanent Disabled Person Parking Placard or License Plate from the California Department of Motor Vehicles

If you are using a Monthly Sticker, the only acceptable identification for both seniors and persons with disabilities is the Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Discount Card with a valid Monthly Sticker attached. The RTC Discount Card or the sticker by themselves will not be accepted.

Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Discount Card

The purpose of the Regional Transit Connection Discount Card program is to provide eligible individuals with fare discounts as mandated by state and federal law. With a RTC Discount Card, persons with qualifying disabilities and senior citizens (65 or over) are entitled to a reduced fare on fixed-route bus, rail and ferry systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The RTC Discount card costs $3.00 and is good up to three years.
