Free Light Rail Shuttle Service

VTA, in cooperation with the Transportation Fund for Clean Air, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and participating employers, operate free shuttle buses from several light rail stations directly to various employment centers.

VTA has been operating the Light Rail Shuttle Bus Program since 1988 when the first two Light Rail Shuttles were introduced to the public. The program was implemented soon after the opening of the VTA Light Rail Guadalupe Line to provide convenient connections to major employment centers, and thus, encourage use of the Light Rail system. Currently, there are a total of four Light Rail Shuttles, two of which also serve Caltrain.
