What does the future of transportation in Santa Clara County look like to you? This Fall, VTA is working on two long-range, countywide transportation planning projects that will impact transportation in Santa Clara County for years to come.
The Visionary Network looks to develop a framework for future transit service plans that addresses the public’s shifting post-pandemic needs. It will define how transit service in Santa Clara County should look over the next 30 years, including street corridors it should serve in the future, how often buses and trains should arrive, how early and late-night service should run, and what bus stops and stations should look like and provide. By the end of the process, it should reflect a shared vision between VTA, each of the 15 member agency cities, and county residents.
The Valley Transportation Plan 2050 (VTP 2050) is the long-range transportation plan for all of Santa Clara County. As the County Transportation Agency (CTA), VTA periodically updates this 25-year plan. It serves to create a policy and planning framework for all modes of travel, including highways, roadways, transit, bicycles, and pedestrians.
Community Engagement Opportunities
As part of these efforts, VTA will be launching a robust community outreach process over the next few months, communicating with both riders and non-riders, to ensure broad and comprehensive feedback for transit and other transportation projects. Community feedback is integral in shaping both our short- and long-term plans.
