PAPER PASSES WITH MAGNETIC STRIPE

Hwy 17 Express busThe Highway 17 Express Day Pass is valid on all VTA Local and Limited Stop Buses, Light Rail and Historic Trolley Service, as well as all Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit Service. The Highway 17 Express Day Pass is valid as partial payment for VTA Express Adult Single-Ride.

The Highway 17 Express 31 Day Pass is valid on all VTA Local and Limited Stop Buses, Light Rail and Historic Trolley Service.  The Highway 17 31 Day Pass can be used for Adult, Youth, Senior or Disabled fares during the calendar month and year shown. The Highway 17 31 Day Pass is valid as partial payment for VTA Express Adult Single-Ride.

Slide the valid Highway 17 Express Day Pass or Highway 17 Express Pass magnetic stripe on VTA bus fare box to receive local fare credit.

Adult Single Ride: No Charge
Adult Express Single Ride: $2.25

*Youth Single Ride:  No Charge
*Youth Express Single Ride: No Charge

*Senior/Disabled Single Ride: No Charge
*Senior/Disabled Express Single Ride: No Charge

* Identification required for Youth or Senior/Disabled fares.

+ CC transfers must be valid as to date and time for the period during which it is used

ELECTRONIC PASSES

Blue Metro Cruz Pass

Blue Cruz Pass cards, with a valid 1, 5 or 31 Day Highway 17 passes electronically loaded, are valid for local fare credit on VTA Local and Limited Stop Buses. Customers must tag the card on the smart card target located at the top left corner of the farebox. On VTA Express bus routes, a $2.25 upgrade fee will apply for Adult passengers. Valid on VTA Light Rail ONLY with a transfer requested from Highway 17 Operator

Boarding a VTA Bus with a valid pass loaded on Blue Metro Cruz Card:

Adult Single Ride: No Charge
Adult Express Single Ride: $2.25
