I-280/Wolfe Road Interchange Improvements Project
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), in cooperation with the City of Cupertino and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), purposes to modify the Wolfe Road interchange on Interstate Route 280 (I-280) in the City of Cupertino.
ObjectivesThe purpose of this project is to improve traffic operations, and facilities for several modes of transportation including bicycle, pedestrian, and high occupancy vehicle uses at the I-280 and Wolfe Road interchange in the City of Cupertino.
Project FeaturesProposed improvements include but are not limited to:
- Modifying or constructing a new structure at the I-280/Wolfe Road interchange
- Modifying existing on- and off-ramps
- Modifying existing local street intersections in the area
- Constructing retaining walls and sound walls as needed
The cost of the project is estimated between $47 million and $62 million.

March 9, 2017 Open House
On Thursday, March 9, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), in cooperation with the City of Cupertino and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), held an Open House from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Elementary School in Cupertino. The Open House introduced conceptual exhibits regarding the Interstate 280/Wolfe Road Interchange Improvements Project. Project staff shared with over 50 stakeholders how this project proposes to modify the Wolfe Road interchange on Interstate 280 in Cupertino.
