Light Rail Resumes on April 9, 6 am to 6 pm Weekday Service Only
04/06/2020

Updated on April 24, 2020 to show that Customer service operation will resume normal business hours on Monday, April 27*

Light Rail weekday service will resume on Thursday, April 9 with trains operating every 30 minutes Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fares are still not being collected.

Service was suspended for two weeks after a VTA Operator Trainee tested positive for COVID-19. During the down time, all the light-rail vehicles were deep-cleaned and VTA continued its ongoing replacement of upholstery seats on trains to more durable vinyl.

Please be reminded of the County’s order of essential travel only. This means use of public transit should only be for the purposes of “performing Essential Activities or to travel to and from work to operate Essential Businesses, maintain Essential Governmental Functions, or to perform Minimum Basic Operations at non‐essential businesses.”
