Construction is underway near Levi’s Stadium as the site of the former Santa Clara Golf and Tennis Club, David’s Restaurant and adjacent land will be redeveloped in a partnership between the City of Santa Clara and Related Companies. The 240-acre project site at 5155 Stars & Stripes Drive will consist of more than 9 million square feet of mixed-use development, including commercial office, residential and retail/entertainment space, along with a new city park.
Roadway Lane Closures: Centennial Boulevard and Stars and Stripes Drive are now closed until further notice. A new exit ramp and temporary road extension is available on Stars and Stripes Boulevard. Vehicles traveling eastbound on Tasman Drive can access the Great America Train Station and soccer field area via a new exit ramp. The soccer field area will also remain accessible via Marie P. DeBartolo Way. All vehicular traffic leaving the Great America Train Station area will exit northbound on the new temporary road to a new traffic signal installed at Great America Parkway.
Vehicle Access: Cars traveling southbound on Great America Parkway can access the affected area by turning left onto Tasman Drive. Cars traveling northbound on Great America Parkway can access the affected area by turning right onto either Tasman Drive or the Stars and Stripes extension.
Ace & Capitol Corridor Train Passenger Access: The ACE and Capitol Corridor trains will not be affected. Passengers can still use the ticketing machines and platforms to board the trains. ADA parking spaces will remain open and unchanged. The dirt parking lots will be closed for the duration of Phase 1 construction. The parking lot south of Great America Station will remain open. Passenger Shuttles will use the new ramp down to the station from Tasman Drive and the temporary Stars and Stripes extension.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Access: The new exit ramp will have a separated multiuse path for two-way bicycle and pedestrian circulation. The Stars and Stripes extension will have bike lanes in both directions to and from the Great America Train Station connecting to Great America Parkway. The Stars and Stripes extension will not have pedestrian access.
