101/Blossom Hill Interchange Construction on Schedule

Crews are making great progress on construction of the US 101/Blossom Hill Interchange Improvement Project. Modifications to the interchange include reconfiguring the highway on-and off-ramps, widening the Blossom Hill Road overpass over US 101, and creating new bike and pedestrian access. Upon completion, these improvements it will reduce congestion and increase traffic flow on Blossom Hill for all modes of travel, including bicycles and pedestrians. Construction is expected to be completed in Fall 2022.

Construction underway on the new northbound loop on-ramp at US 101/Blossom Hill. The new pedestrian access path will run below the loop, before going across the overpass.

Recent Construction Milestones

  • A new retaining wall was erected west of the northbound on-ramp toward US 101 off Blossom Hill Road.
  • The new on-ramp toward southbound US 101 off Blossom Hill Road is now open.
  • New traffic signals were installed at the Blossom Hill Road/Silver Creek Valley Road and Coyote Creek Road intersection to improve bike and pedestrian safety.
  • The Blossom Hill Road overcrossing over US 101 has been widened.
  • The new US 101 southbound off-ramp toward Blossom Hill Road is now open.

Coming Soon

The following construction activities are in progress or scheduled, weather and conditions permitting:

Blossom Hill Road and Coyote Road

  • Widen Coyote Road between Blossom Hill Road and Century Park Way
  • Complete final paving and striping

Blossom Hill Road to Monterey Road

  • Construction of a separated bike lane along Blossom Hill Road to Monterey Road

Southbound US 101 at Blossom Hill Road

  • Excavating activities for the newly paved bike and pedestrian undercrossing
  • Complete final paving and striping on the new path

Northbound US 101 at Blossom Hill Road

  • Construct columns for the pedestrian overcrossing bridge structure
  • Install the bridge between columns and complete the pedestrian overcrossing
  • Complete final paving and striping
  • Open the new on-ramp and pedestrian overcrossing in Fall 2022
