On Tuesday, May 13, in partnership with SV@Home, and Affordable Housing Month, VTA and CORE Developers are hosting tours of the nearly completed apartments at Tamien Station.
This is VTA’s first Transit Oriented Development (TOD) to break ground in over 20 years! Residents are expected to move into their new homes beginning later this summer.
This first phase brings 135 affordable housing units comprised of Studios and 1–3-bedroom apartments. It is the first of three planned phases. Once complete, the Tamien Station TOD will feature 477 apartments. Fifty-five percent (267) are designated affordable housing, along with a 3000’ childcare center and direct access to the Tamien Station among its many amenities. Tamien Station serves VTA light rail, bus services, and Caltrain.
This is an open-house style event. The number of tour groups will be determined by number of attendees and will be held between 9am-11am (@25 min). You will sign up for the tour when you arrive. When you are not touring, you can enjoy light refreshments and network with VTA staff, CORE, and housing advocates where you will learn more about:
- VTA’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Program
- Current RFP’s and Development Opportunities
- VTA’s Transit Oriented Communities (TOC) Grant Program
