Overnight Freeway Closures on March 8 and 9 for the US 101/Blossom Hill Road Overcrossing
03/08/2021

Northbound and Southbound lanes of Highway 101 will be closed overnight at the Blossom Hill Road/Silver Creek Valley Road interchange, exit 378, over the span of two nights, one night for each direction:

  • Southbound lanes will close from midnight on Monday, March 8 to 5 a.m., Tuesday.
  • Northbound lanes will close at midnight, Tuesday, March 9 until 4 a.m., Wednesday

Drivers will need to detour at that exit ramp and then will be redirected to the on-ramp on the other side of the road. The detour will be clearly marked for drivers to follow.

Check out this video with an animated map showing the flow of traffic during these closures or you can see a detailed image of detour on the VTA website.

The Freeway closure is for the adjustment of falsework (temporary support structure for the bridge) of the overcrossing, part of the US 101/Blossom Hill Road Interchange Improvement Project. Changeable message signs and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area.

The closure of southbound lanes will start at Hellyer Ave., until all lanes are closed approaching Blossom Hill Rd., except the off-ramp.

The northbound lane closures will start at Bernal Rd., until all lanes are closed approaching Blossom Hill Rd., except the off-ramp.
