Thanks for trusting in transit
Thanks for Trusting Transit...We Got You!
10/30/2020

When we debuted our 10-Point Plan to Strengthen Trust in Transit this past summer, we made a commitment to keep transit safe and clean. More recently, we've been listening to riders, collecting feedback with surveys and through other means, to check in on how we can keep the trust we've earned.

We heard from riders like Karen, a Stanford employee, who loves VTA because it's a safe place to kick back. "It's convenient, it's less expensive, and I feel like I'm lessening my carbon footprint," says Karen. "I just love that I don't have to sit in stop-and-go traffic…VTA gets me to and from work every day, no hassle." She gets her transit provided by her employer through VTA's SmartPass, a program that provides discounted passes to institutions within Santa Clara County.

SmartPass users from a wide array of organizations like First Community Housing, Stanford University, Cisco Systems, San Jose State, Evergreen College, and San Jose International Airport, along with many others, have logged thousands of trips since the beginning of the pandemic through today. And it's not just SmartPass users getting back on board, as other riders are returning to their old routes as well.

Whether you're an experienced rider with decades of transit experience, or are returning to VTA's service, we're proud to have your support. If you're planning to get back on board, we recommend downloading the Transit app, which lets you see real-time tracking information and crowding alerts.

To all riding during this time--thanks for trusting transit! We got you!
