You're invited to celebrate the opening of BART to Santa Clara County! It's a little out of the ordinary, but we think you will understand.

Now that you know the Silicon Valley Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Stations are opening for passenger service June 13, you are likely wondering about the long-awaited celebration of all the years of hard work to bring this project to reality. Alas, these strange times, due to COVID-19, call for virtual ceremonies. So that is what we are doing for the BART Silicon Valley Extension Ceremony.

The actual ribbon cutting ceremonies are strictly accessible by invitation only. It is not a public event so please stay in the comfort of your own home to celebrate.

You are invited to livestream a largely condensed event on Friday, June 12. You can register to tune in here from 10 am to noon to hear speakers associated with the project from the very beginning, and our current community and elected leaders who helped bring this project across the finish line.

VTA built the 10-mile extension from the BART Warm Springs Station in Fremont, adding two new transit centers in Milpitas and Berryessa where BART will connect with VTA transit services.  In Milpitas, passengers will be able to connect to the new VTA Orange Light Rail Line and ride north to Mountain View, or south to the Alum Rock Transit Center. VTA bus service connects with both new stations, providing dozens of routes across Santa Clara County.

Please join us for the livestream event June 12 beginning at 10 am to welcome BART to Santa Clara County! Don't forget to register, and you will be sent the link to enjoy the show!
